Scramble

A team format where all players hit from the same spot after selecting the best shot from the group on each stroke.

What does scramble mean in golf?

The scramble is the most beginner-friendly team format in golf. After everyone tees off, the team selects the best drive and all players hit their next shot from that spot. The process repeats until the ball is holed. Scrambles produce very low scores and keep rounds moving quickly, making them the standard format for charity tournaments and corporate outings. A 'Texas scramble' variation requires using each team member's drive a minimum number of times.

GolfN Tip: GolfN supports scramble format in its side games — set it up before the round and scoring is handled for you.
