A hole completed in a single stroke, also called a hole-in-one.
An ace is one of golf's rarest achievements. It occurs when a player's tee shot lands directly in the cup, most commonly on par-3 holes. The odds of an amateur golfer making an ace are estimated at roughly 12,500 to 1. Many courses and tournaments offer special prizes for aces, and the achievement is traditionally celebrated by the player buying a round of drinks in the clubhouse.
