Closed Face

A clubface position at address or impact where the face points left of the target line for right-handed golfers.

What does closed face mean in golf?

A closed clubface promotes a right-to-left ball flight (draw or hook). At address, this means the leading edge of the club is rotated inward. Some golfers close the face intentionally to hit a draw, while others do it unintentionally, leading to hooks. The degree of face closure at impact is the primary factor in determining the starting direction and curve of a golf shot.
