Driver

The longest and lowest-lofted club in the bag, designed for maximum distance off the tee.

What does driver mean in golf?

Modern drivers feature large titanium or composite clubheads (up to 460cc, the maximum allowed by the Rules of Golf) and shafts typically between 44-46 inches long. The combination of low loft (typically 8-12 degrees), long shaft, and large sweet spot is engineered to produce the fastest ball speeds and longest carries. Driver fitting has become increasingly sophisticated, with launch monitors measuring dozens of impact variables to optimize performance for individual swing characteristics.
